Notebooks come in different shape and size. To help you find which size is the right one for you, we've created this short information page that regroups the main notebook size we sell on our site.
ISO (DIN) formats
Most notebooks follow the ISO 216 standard, also called the DIN format (short for Deutsches Institut für Normung). The most common sizes include A4, A5, and A6 with each being exactly half the size of the previous one.
The A4 is the classic paper sheet size you see everywhere (at least in Europe). Fold it in too and you get an A5 page (the basic size for a notebook). Fold it again and you move to A6. Once more and you get to A7, the perfect size for a back pocket notebook (like this Rhodia).
The DIN formats also includes some variants in B and C letters (B4, B5...). They also each take half the size of the higher size (i.e B5 being half a B4) and are useful to provide a slightly bigger alternative to the A formats.
Nuuna's formats
Nuuna is a german brand that offers notebooks with an emphasis on creative designs. This lead them to use their own format, which is slight different from the DIN system.
Their L format is bigger than a standard A5, while being slightly more square. This can be useful if you like to slide flyers or pages in A5 format in your notebooks.
Their M format is smaller than an A5 while still being far from an A6.
The S format is almost an A6 format (only 3mm difference in width).

US paper size
As with a lot of things, the US has its own system. It is very close to the DIN format but still differ enough to be interchangeable.
The basic letter size, is a few millimeters longer in width and a few millimeters shorter in length compared to an A4.
